Laser Comb Review

A new and unproven approach to hair loss

What are Laser Combs?

A typical laser comb.

Laser Combs are devices which apply low-intensity laser light to the scalp.

How do Laser Combs Work?

Low-intensity laser lights have been shown to be effective in promiting wound healing and circulation. [Source 1, 2] According to an article published in September 2010, "More in vitro studies are necessary to elucidate the mechanism and effectiveness at the cellular level, and more controlled studies are necessary to assess the role of this new treatment in the general population." [Source 3]

Do Laser Combs Work?

It is still uncertain how laser combs actually work. It is thought that they increase blood flow to the scalp but no controlled studies have been done.

Are Laser Combs Safe?

Yes, the lights are usually generated by LEDs which are everywhere from traffic lights, power status lights, and TVs. The light itself, as the name implies, is weak and of low-intensity.

Overall Rating:

/

Laser combs are a one-time investment and are costly to say the least. Prices range up to $500 for one. No controlled studies have been done and furthermore, they don't address the main cause of hair loss, excess DHT. Don't be a lab-rat. We recommend using a nutrient-rich, DHT-blocking supplement or topical product instead.
